These are vintage calendars, starting in 1967, showing reproductions of military dress uniforms from watercolors by the noted German artist Wolfgang Tritt. Each month shows a different uniform in full color. The renderings are carefully researched and accurately depict the uniforms.
These are high quality prints on heavy stock published by Korsch-Verlag in Germany. The U.S. edition is called either “Dress Parade” or “Uniforms”, and the German edition is called “Historische Uniformen”. The German edition also includes an additional page with descriptions, in German, of the uniforms depicted in the watercolors.
Tritt died in 1983 and the last year his paintings appeared in the calendars was 1984 (although the December 1985 picture was also by Tritt). The calendar series has been continued and beginning with the 1985 calendar, the paintings are by the well known uniformologists Lilian and Fred Funcken.
